Our Mission

DOTS works with Local Authorities, social care providers, health partners and community teams to build capability, reduce unnecessary escalation, and ensure OT expertise is used where it has the biggest impact.

Our mission is to deliver clear, practical and evidence‑informed training that gives staff the competence and confidence to make safe, proportionate decisions — improving everyday life for people living with disability and long‑term conditions in the community.

Our Values

Expert‑led
All training is designed and delivered by experienced Occupational Therapists with real‑world practice across community equipment and adaptations.

Practical & proportionate
We focus on what staff need day‑to‑day: clear pathways, defensible decisions, and safer practice.

Inclusive & person‑centred
Grounded in the Social Model of Disability, with language, examples and solutions that support independence and dignity.

Competency‑based
Structured learning, portfolio evidence and clear outcomes that transfer directly into practice.

Collaborative
We work with organisations to tailor content, align to local processes, and support smooth implementation.

Quality & consistency
We aim for measurable improvements—confident staff, consistent standards, and reduced delays for service users.

Odile Waddington Jones

Odile Waddington‑Jones is an Occupational Therapist and the founder of DOTS Training & Consultancy.
Qualified in 1995, Odile has spent over 25 years specialising in neurological rehabilitation, complex disability, case management, and workforce development across health, social care, and community organisations.

Odile is recognised as a pioneer in the creation and delivery of Trusted Assessor Training. Beginning this work in 2012, she helped shape some of the earliest accredited programmes in the UK, designing and teaching Level 2 and Level 3 training that has since been delivered nationally. Her work has supported thousands of practitioners, commissioners, and organisations to provide safer, more consistent and person‑centred equipment assessments.

Throughout her career, Odile has worked in mental health, acute and community hospitals, and specialist neuro services. She has held senior OT roles, managed complex caseloads, and worked as a registered case manager, bringing a balanced blend of clinical depth and real‑world experience to her teaching. Her specialisms include acquired brain injury, neurological conditions, functional rehabilitation, equipment and environmental adaptations, and multidisciplinary team leadership.

Odile founded DOTS Training & Consultancy to take Trusted Assessor Training to the next level — offering high‑quality, practical, and accessible training that improves the lives of people living with disability and long‑term conditions in the community. Her mission is clear: to strengthen the skills and confidence of the workforce so people receive the right support, first time.

Alongside training delivery, Odile continues a small independent OT caseload and collaborates with local authorities, charities, and case management companies. Her values of clarity, care, professionalism, and empowerment run through every part of DOTS.

Outside of work, you’ll find Odile enjoying long walks along the Bournemouth clifftops and beaches with her much‑loved goldador, Carley.
